Pictures from Bridgeport

A Satellite Exhibit at Silvermine Art Gallery, New Canaan

OPENING RECEPTION March 22nd, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

City Lights kicks off its 21st anniversary with a satellite exhibit opening and reception on Saturday, March 22, from 2-4 pm, to celebrate and raise awareness for the quality and diversity of Bridgeport’s art.

Silvermine Art Gallery in New Canaan, CT invited City Lights Gallery to coproduce “Pictures from Bridgeport,” a Bridgeport Art Trail sampler of selected works by city artists that highlights a range of media and styles as diverse as the people of the ‘Park City’.

Exhibiting artists include Elisha Brockenberry, Carlos Biernnay, Will Corprew, Steve Gerber, Robin Gilmore, Suzanne Kachmar, Dariusz Kanarek, Looketha, Iyaba Ibo Mandingo, Miguel Mendoza, and Yolanda Vasquez Petrocelli.

City Lights Gallery marks its 21st year as a downtown arts hub, producing the Bridgeport Art Trail for 17 years. A city of 150,000, Bridgeport boasts eight art-making studio buildings, along with multiple music venues and theatres. It is a rare concentration for a city this size. The Bridgeport Art Trail community is the heart of the arts scene.

Annually, this network of 200+ artists comes together to welcome the greater community to tour open studios and celebrate the arts city-wide. The Spring Bridgeport Art Trail will run throughout the season at multiple sites, with exhibit receptions, open studios, artists meet-ups, music, spoken word, and more. The annual Fall Bridgeport Art Trail weekend runs Nov. 6-9, 2025. Through the City Lights & Company nonprofit organization, Bridgeport Art Trail artists serve the community through art, such as programs that enrich the learning experience.
