Artists of the NEST
The NEST Arts Factory is the longest-running working artists’ studio community in Bridgeport, marking over 30 years. Founder/Director Vic Mulaire, was recognized in 2023 by the Fairfield County arts community with an ACE award for his 30+ years of service, providing accommodating and affordable working spaces for artists. Over the Bridgeport Art Trail Weekend enjoy open studios, art sales, hands-on activities, music, poetry, film and more!
The NEST Arts Factory is a supportive community of artists and musicians working in a wide variety of media in a re-imagined factory building on the west side of Bridgeport, CT. NEST artists work in a wide variety of media from painting, drawing, and sculpture to ceramics, textiles, jewelry, filmmaking, poetry, printmaking, glass, mosaic, ceramics, upcycled clothing and furniture and interior design. They are delighted to share their work and explain their inspiration and process. Classes and workshops are offered year-round in fiber arts, figure drawing, screenwriting, drawing, etc.
NEST musicians play and write music in an array of genres including acoustic folk, Latin, alternative rock, reggae, and world music. Popular bands include the Cosmic Jibaros, Pangea and the Swamp Hogs.
Located in the heart of the NEST is the community room, where hands-on activities, live music, and poetry will take place during the BAT weekend. The open space hallways accommodate both performing and visual artists to share their work with the community. Visitors can tour studios, meander the hallways, meet the artists, learn about the art, and enjoy activities in the community room and other spaces.
On and Off-street parking is available for all events.

The Bridgeport Portrait Project “I Am Bridgeport” is a cultural heritage photography and storytelling project now in its 11th year. View updated “I Am Bridgeport” slideshow video and possibly participate in the project. Poli’s Palace and Majestic Theatres Memories Project slideshow videos and book will be on display. Hear and see Jay & Geralene’s recent portrait series that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Thomas Merton Family Center with an exhibit of the project at CT State Community College Housatonic.

Pangea is a high energy, genre-bending ensemble based out of the NEST Arts Factory in Bridgeport, CT. Founded by Kris Studebaker and Nicholas Yost. As an ensemble, Pangea seeks to resonate with the psychedelic rhythms of the universe, creating a perpetual sonic spiral, pushing boundaries and exploring musical styling from across the globe. Band members are known for their versatility and adaptability, drawing from various musical influences to create their signature sound. The collective of musicians includes drummer Kris Studebaker, conguero Sam Mendez, percussionist/vocalist Will Diaz, bassist Mike Rachinsky, guitarist Jeff Wickun, Georgios Giannios on woodwinds, and keyboardist Nicholas Yost.
