Artists of Read’s Artspace
This former department store located in the heart of downtown has the distinction of being the sole artist live/work space in the city. Home to more than 30 artists working in a variety of mediums including visual arts, music, writing and theater, Read’s has served as a hub for residents to create and exhibit their work since 2005. In addition to Gallery shows, art is featured in the common spaces throughout the building. Hours by appointment.

A BAT tradition, the spacious Ground Floor Gallery presents an annual exhibit where Read’s artists/residents and their guests pair their art and host an artists’ homecoming party.
Friday, November 6
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM | “Songbirds” Singer-Songwriter Performances
Stop by after dinner with friends and enjoy an evening of live music featuring talented local singer-songwriters, all while exploring the artwork at Read’s Gallery. Lyrical Voices presents A Night of Poetry & Arts—a beloved creative home in Bridgeport for over twenty years—and welcomes artists and audiences into a space filled with rhythm, reflection, laughter, and community.
