Mongers Market Booth F5

Connecticut, and Bridgeport itself has a long and storied history in Tool Manufacturing. Many wonderful pieces and examples have found their way into Mongers Market. For this one day only, we will be pulling together a showcase of the CT Brands and Companies that have stood the test of time. A vital hub of Industrial Manufacturing for years, CT played an important role during the late 19th century, and leading into the 20th. Antique and Vintage sewing machines, piano parts, hand tools- like screwdrivers and nut-drivers, steel manufacturing machinery itself; the list is long.

Many of your ancestors might have worked in Manufacturing Facilities just like this building.  Many companies produced goods right here in this neighborhood of Bridgeport, and throughout the state. We will have samples of things produced during those formidable Industrial years. Touch a piece of history, take photos, and produce your own creation if inspired.
