Posters about and dedicated to Ukraine – my Motherland.
I was born and grew up in Ukraine.
Now I’ve been living and working in Connecticut.
Everything changed in one day, February 24th.
In reaction to the Russian invasion currently unfolding in Ukraine, I am showing my solidarity...
Murdered civilians, mass graves, raped women, and children killed. It was shocking what the Russians did to civilians in Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, and destroyed many other towns and cities.
I started to create my posters because it was the only way to let out my pain and anger.
I think a lot about how I can be useful for Ukraine's victory. How art can help Ukrainian citizens.
I respond to the war in many ways. In some of my works I am trying to find hope,
redemption, and boost the country's spirits. In others, I had to express my anger because I couldn't keep it inside.
All my work I created about the war I donated to raise money to help Ukraine. I need to explain it to people around the world and because of this I chose the most democratic language — posters.
