Artistic Background

Carlos Biernnay’s early artistic formation is deeply shaped by his family environment: a matriarchal structure in which he learned to sew and to observe the women around him creating clothing and domestic objects from available materials.

His work asserts the right to life in its abundance—an ironic form of survival in the face of lived events—and explores how pain is transformed into spaces for reflection through simple, everyday elements. His intentional textile compositions function as a turning point, a call to remembrance, and an act of resistance.
